Built in 1420 this building has long been associated with government and as its anglo saxon name suggests (moot hall means meeting place in anglo saxon) this association is almost timeless. But this building has also been a private house , police station ,court room and council chambers.
 
        
 
With this history, its little wonder that this venue is so active. Activity witnessed includes banging on walls and doors, light anomalies, feelings of being watched and followed phantom prisoners in the exercise yard caught on camera and a spirit which has sent  many fleeing.
