This Castle built in the 12th century and was later destroyed to stop the English forces from using it in 1409. Later rebuilt as a prison it undoubtedly saw much cruelty, abuse, murder and suicide.
 
 
 
 
The jail has been investigated on numerous occasions and there have been many accounts of paranormal activity.
 
These include cell doors closing, apparitions, phantom pipers and the jail found infamy in 2005 by reports of extreme poltergeist activity .
